There is a lot of talk at the moment around the subject of 'going digital' for freight forwarders. What does it mean, where do we start and what will it cost?
Well... the talk started with the introduction of 'Blockchain'... which is a term borrowed from the world of cryptocurrency. In simple terms the terms refers to 'supply-chain visibility' where all stakeholders can have access to all information from build/picked from warehouse to final mile delivery and everything in between.
My question is... does everybody need ALL information or just the relevant data? Is is sufficient to have a single link where clients can follow (on a map) the progress of their shipment with any likely delays shown and an accurate ETA?
FIGGROUP would like to direct more resource at finding this simple solution. We would like to know your views and if there is 'added-value' in this proposal - how much should we pay per shipment?
